“A Sower Went Out”—And So Did I

Jesus tells a story about seeds—some landing on paths, some on rocky ground, some among thorns, and some on good soil that produces fruit.

To me, that parable isn’t just theology. It’s autobiography in spirit. Because early on, I felt like my life had different kinds of “soil” inside it:

• Sometimes fear came early and took root fast.
• Sometimes courage showed up unexpectedly—quiet and real.
• And sometimes family became the kind of ground that helped hope grow anyway.

That’s what the opening chapters of Rising Beyond Hope is about: the formation of a boy—through laughter, fear, faith, family hands, and the first lessons of what it costs to rise.
